On February 28, 2008, Softline held the 2nd All-Ukrainian conference "Hospital of the Future" for the healthcare sector in the conference hall of the five-star Opera hotel. The event took place with the participation of partner companies Cisco Systems, Microsoft, Samsung and Siemens.

The conference opened with welcoming remarks by Softline Vice President Oleksandr Smyrnov, who introduced the audience to the company's new developments in healthcare and the latest achievements of the "Hospital of the Future" system in Ukraine.

An exceptionally interesting presentation was given by Ozar Mintser, Director of the Distance Education Center and Head of the Department of Medical Informatics at the Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education. His report "Informatization of medical and preventive care institutions. The electronic medical passport of a citizen of Ukraine" prompted many questions from the audience, which Mr. Mintser gladly answered.

Softline business line director Yurii Moiseiev spoke about the new capabilities and development prospects of the "Electronic Hospital" system. He reported that a new software module, "Surgical Operations", had been added to the system. The module is being implemented at Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 12, in the First Surgery Department. An "Electronic Prescription Chart" is also currently being developed in the system.

The group of experts involved in the development of the system keeps growing. It has been joined by experts from the Institute of Neurosurgery and the Institute of Surgery of the Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, which makes it possible to deliver a full-fledged product for automating medical and preventive care institutions.

The audience showed great interest in the presentation by Oleksandr Chumak, Head of the Design Department at the Siemens Enterprise Communications representative office. He spoke about the company's main areas of activity, its strategies and the implementation of Siemens integrated solutions for healthcare organizations.

Tetiana Znamenska, Healthcare and Social Sector Lead for Central Europe at Microsoft, shared the company's experience in healthcare and drew attention to both the prospects and the challenges of developing information technology in medicine. She spoke about solutions that help hospitals work more efficiently.

Volodymyr Bolotnykov, Marketing Manager of Samsung's IT Department, spoke about the ergonomics of modern information solutions for medicine, in particular the ergonomics of a modern workstation and all its components. Samsung puts the high quality and reliability of its equipment first. These properties help protect users' health and eyesight.

He particularly highlighted the wide capabilities of the new devices, the Samsung Q1 and Samsung Q1 Ultra ultra-mobile PCs (UMPC), which are essential for efficient and prompt work, especially in the extreme conditions of hospitals.

Throughout the conference, guests actively talked and discussed. At the end, the organizers of the 2nd All-Ukrainian conference "Hospital of the Future" held a draw of valuable prizes among the participants.

Together with its partners, Softline plans to continue holding conferences for Ukraine's healthcare sector, hoping to attract an even wider range of participants, as such conferences foster cooperation between the largest international and Ukrainian IT companies in the field of medicine.
