Facebook is testing a version of its social network for business

Facebook is testing a version of its social networking site designed for corporate use. In appearance, Facebook at Work is similar to the standard platform and offers users the familiar features of the largest social network, such as news feeds, groups, events and messages, but is focused on an individual organisation.

Unlike with standard Facebook accounts, information shared on the network will be available only to employees of a single company. This makes it possible to ensure the necessary level of security and privacy.
Several unnamed Facebook corporate partners are taking part in the testing; their feedback will help the company improve its new service.
There is no official information yet on when Facebook at Work will start operating or whether the service will be free. Judging by the fact that it is at the pilot testing stage and mobile apps are already available for the two major platforms, Android and iOS, its debut is expected this year.
Social networks are gradually gaining an increasingly important place in business. Salesforce recently added social data monitoring to Social Studio, and IBM announced Verse, a cloud service that combines analytics, email and social networking features.
