Softline (www.softline.kiev.ua), together with Softline Business Intelligence (www.softlinebi.kiev.ua) (SBI), has successfully completed the project "Creation of a centralized analytical reporting system based on the MicroStrategy analytics platform" at the Ministry of Finance of Georgia under the auspices of Chemonics International Inc. (on behalf of USAID).

Both Ukrainian companies have extensive experience in developing data integration systems and implementing Business Intelligence systems in various sectors of the economy. The project delivered at a central government body of Georgia has once again confirmed the companies' high level of expertise in this field.

The contract to create the analytical reporting system for the Ministry of Finance of Georgia was signed after Softline Tbilisi (a Softline subsidiary) won an open tender in June 2008. Under the contract, Softline specialists integrated data from disparate internal and external sources into a centralized data warehouse, while SBI specialists installed and developed a centralized analytical reporting system based on the MicroStrategy analytics platform. The system makes it possible to obtain standard reports in the format approved by the Ministry. Users are provided with a set of preconfigured analytical report forms for the revenue side of the budget, in particular for analyzing tax and non-tax revenues, grants and other receipts broken down by region, tax inspectorate, etc. As part of the project, the base software was adapted, the system was installed and configured, integration work was carried out, specialists of the Ministry of Finance and USAID were trained, and technical support was provided for the operation of the analytics platform. To make work with the system more efficient, the end-user interface was localized.

According to Ministry of Finance staff, the implementation of the analytical system has ensured fast report preparation and transparent analysis of consolidated indicators, and has improved staff efficiency overall.
