On 17 February 2009 the conference "Benefits of Using Licensed Software" took place in Rivne. The conference was organised by Softline with the support of Microsoft Ukraine.
Participants included representatives of the state administration, higher education institutions, law firms, the commercial sector and software distributors.
The conference was opened by Andrii Lavrenchuk, Deputy Head of the Rivne Regional State Administration and Chief of Staff. The conference focused on licensing issues and intellectual property legislation.
Dmytro Kurylovych (Softline) and Andrii Burlutskyi (Microsoft Ukraine) presented innovative solutions to optimise the work of the conference participants. For higher education institutions, Microsoft solutions and partnership programmes for universities were presented, as well as Microsoft products to improve the efficiency of the learning process. Much attention was drawn to the speech by Oleh Kyrychok, Chief State Inspector for Intellectual Property, who highlighted the legislative aspects of intellectual property issues.
