On 9 November 2012, the smsprom.com.ua online service from Softline Mobile Systems upgraded its SMS broadcasting system. As a result, the SMS sending rate increased from 5 to 30 messages per second (sixfold!).
This means that sending an SMS message to a database of 3,000 subscribers takes just 100 seconds, or a little over a minute and a half. Andrii Peptiuk, Director of Softline Mobile Systems and head of the SMSPROM service, explained during the presentation of the upgraded platform (held the same day at the Hi-Tech Park business centre) that the need for such a radical upgrade was due to growing demand for SMS broadcasting in the small and medium-sized business segment.
It is no secret that SMS broadcasting is currently one of the best ways to inform customers about new products and services. But typing text messages on a mobile phone and sending them to thousands of subscribers takes far too much time. The SMSPROM online service offers a simple and effective solution. All you need for bulk SMS broadcasting is a computer connected to the Internet.
"To start a bulk SMS campaign, you need to register on our website, top up your account, upload your database of phone numbers and write the texts of the messages to be sent — and your messages will go out at a rate of 30 SMS per second," said Andrii Peptiuk, head of the Smsprom service and Director of Softline Mobile Systems, during the presentation. According to him, the company forecasts that demand for SMS broadcasting will grow by 15% in 2013. The Intecracy Group consortium offers the SMS broadcasting service primarily to banks and insurance companies as a ready-made solution. SMS broadcasts are also used as part of queue management systems and customer relationship systems. For example, after placing an order, an online store customer automatically receives an SMS notification stating exactly when the goods will be delivered, in the case of courier delivery, or exactly where the ordered goods can be collected, in the case of self-pickup. In addition, SMS broadcasting is an effective solution for transport companies, as it allows them to promptly inform customers of the status of their cargo delivery orders via SMS notifications.
