Softline, a developer of highly complex corporate information systems, held the specialized seminar "Softline solutions for power industry enterprises" on July 27, 2001.

About 50 representatives of energy sector enterprises, ministries and government agencies, and the media took part in the seminar.

Company employees and invited speakers gave a number of presentations at the seminar:

  • Leonid Symonenko, Head of the Technical Department of the National Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), presented the report "NERC draft amendments to the rules for metering under the differentiated tariff, to the rules and contracts".
  • "Modern information technologies in the power industry" was the topic of the presentation by Yurii Oparin, Chief Engineer of the Main Information and Computing Center of Ukrenergo.
  • Andrii Bezkorovainyi, Technical Director of Softline's branch in Khmelnytskyi, presented the report "Megapolis Billing System", in which he told the audience about the system's architecture and advantages, the flexibility of its setup and configuration, and the security principles implemented in it.
  • The corporate information and analytical system of a power utility association covers technological, economic and organizational tasks on a single information base. Electricity consumption metering, balance analysis, planning and management are the tasks of this system. This was the subject of the presentation by Izabella Haba, Project Lead at Softline.
  • Project Manager Yevhen Sozanskyi presented the report "Internet solutions in the power industry: internal and external portal. Integration with functional and operational systems", in which he spoke about the benefits of using internet technologies in the energy market.
  • The distinctive features of the system — the use of modern technologies, complete and timely satisfaction of users' information needs, simplified document flow and enhanced information analysis capabilities — were discussed in the presentation "Indicator collection and analysis system — a management system for a power company. Integration with functional and operational systems", given by Volodymyr Stokoz, Lead Analyst of the company.
  • The head of Softline's implementation and support service presented a report on the corporate software suite "Personnel and Payroll", a system for making sound HR decisions for enterprises of any size and field of activity.

A distinctive feature of this seminar was that it established a tradition: Softline had held a seminar devoted to the energy sector exactly one year earlier. The participants' interest in the issues discussed testifies to the enduring relevance of the seminar's subject matter. The participants noted that Softline had taken a significant step forward. Softline merged with the group of developers of the REN and REYur systems for metering electricity consumption by household and industrial consumers. At present, Softline has an integrated management system for power companies that combines experience and knowledge in modern information technologies for the energy sector.
