Update. As of 18 May 2015, registration for the BrainBasket Foundation program is closed (http://brainbasket.org/coding-for-future). But there is no reason to be discouraged. Roughly every second programmer is self-taught. Even when attending courses, people mostly learn on their own, and the instructor only provides guidance.
If you want to get a job in the IT industry and wish to undergo training for it, we can advise you by email, namely: what IT specialties exist, how to acquire the necessary knowledge on your own (including lists of literature, websites with interactive learning and video tutorials), how to obtain certificates confirming that you are a specialist, and how to write a CV properly and how to behave at a job interview. People who have acquired the necessary knowledge can also try their hand at getting a job at Softline IT and the Intecracy Group consortium. Fill in the questionnaire
As part of the adaptation program, participants of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO), servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine discharged to the reserve and internally displaced persons will take courses in the fundamentals of software testing.
"Today there is an objective need to create conditions and a system for the adaptation of servicemen who are due to be discharged from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, with particular attention paid to ATO participants who suffered during the hostilities," said Petro Mekhed, Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine and Chief of Staff, at a press conference in Kyiv on Wednesday (26 November).
According to Jaanika Merilo, Chair of the Board of the BrainBasket Foundation, the IT market is very promising today: with about 100,000 people employed, it is growing rapidly, by up to 30% a year, and the number of people employed in the sector is expected to double by 2020.
She said that the three-month training under the Coding for Future program will be offered to everyone interested in three formats: in specially equipped computer classrooms at hospitals, online, and at certified training centers. After completing the training, participants will be helped to find jobs at IT companies.
Comment from Softline IT:
We are ready to hire people who have completed training and acquired an IT specialty. This includes people with disabilities who sustained serious injuries in combat. Work in the IT industry makes it possible to perform one's duties remotely, so there is no problem with an employee's physical presence at the workplace.
