Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov stresses that the development of the IT industry, as one of the most promising, must be reflected in the Programme for the Activation of Economic Development. He said this during a meeting with representatives of leading Ukrainian IT companies on 12 February 2013.
"The IT industry, as the most promising one, should also have a place in the programme," said Mykola Azarov, instructing Minister of Economic Development and Trade Ihor Prasolov to take into account all the proposals and comments of IT companies in the Programme for the Activation of Economic Development. According to him, the government is currently actively finalising the Programme for the Activation of Economic Development, which for the first time in many years provides for a whole range of incentives for economic development. "First of all, we are talking about bank loans," Mykola Azarov stressed, noting that credit in Ukraine is hard to obtain.
"Within a matter of days, this programme will be submitted to the government for consideration. It provides for a whole range of opportunities and instruments to improve the current state of our economy," the Prime Minister said. At the same time, he emphasised that implementing this programme would help reach the planned 3.5% GDP growth.
Softline IT comment
We expect the tax burden on IT companies to be reduced. After all, the specific feature of our industry is that about 85% of the cost of our services is the salaries of technical specialists. In most other industries, this cost item accounts for no more than a third of the cost. This is exactly what the IT Ukraine Association, of which Softline IT is a member, is insisting on. It will make it possible to legalise salaries in the industry, increase the capitalisation of IT companies and attract investors from Western Europe and the USA.
