This year Softline completed a year-long project to build a data warehouse of civil liability insurance policies for the Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine (MTIBU). In the course of the project, the company designed the warehouse structure for the first time and also developed import and reporting software.
"The introduction of a centralised database will help road accident victims identify the insurer more quickly in order to obtain compensation for damage, and will help counter insurance fraud," said MTIBU President Volodymyr Romanyshyn.
According to the company, insurers have already begun entering into the database information on compulsory civil liability insurance contracts for owners of land vehicles (MTPL) concluded in the current year and over the previous five years. "We plan that from 1 July this year the database will contain complete information on this type of insurance for the entire period the underlying law has been in force," Volodymyr Romanyshyn emphasised.
"This project gave us our first opportunity to develop and implement data warehouses. The experience we have gained will enable us to create similar databases for other companies as well," the developers note.
